I went to the U.S. goverments main patent and trademark site and they have a search engine in which you can type in keywords (such as potato peeler) and it will give a list of patents relating to that topic from 1790 to now or so it says, so if its that easy then why do I always hear you have to hire a lawyer or someone who knows what they're doing to do an patent search?
